Austin will be hosting their monthly jam this weekend, encouraging people from all around Texas to come and see how things go down in Austin.

We'll meet at 9am at the UT tower, and from there the campus and surrounding areas are basically our playground!

August 23rd- Most of us will be leaving from our respective places this day and meeting at 11:00am at Enchanted Rock. We will leave around 5:00pm and we can have dinner at MY HOUSE at 7:00pm. You may also choose to stay and camp.  Unfortunately everyone will either need to bring their own food or pull in money for a giant pot and we can all cook up some grub. Anyone is available to come that night and find some ground space to sleep, there should be plenty of room. You will not have to be here at 7:00 in order to reserve space. Also, please email me letting me know that your staying.

Its tough to find so Follow Directions precisely. Its in a shopping center with an OAK Grove Plaza.

August 24th- We will be meeting at Flipnastics for the gym jam. It starts at 11am and will end at 3pm. No plans are made for after this event.

Progression Video

Thats right, a series of No Competition in Parkour, Parkour Competitions (or NCPPC) are going to be starting up in Texas Parkour. It will be open to any community anywhere in the world. The series will include small prizes and possibly even better possibilities, (you learn). The series of competitions will be created to make light of the strongly opposed stance of competitions in parkour. TXPK's stance on parkour competition is that of our members. This is a member ran organization so, they get to keep their opinions :)

The first of the series will include a Video Contest. The content of the video will include that of YOUR monthly progression. Our project will start in the middle of this month, August 15th. The video will be graded by admins of TXPK. Remember this is a video competition not an ability competition. The video will be graded by the following:

Graded:
Care taken to progress- Time spent/level of involvement/
Monitoring of your Progression- Plan of attack/Day to Day charting/
System of Improvement
CREATIVITY IN TRAINING AND VIDEO

Not Graded:
Level of Ability

REWARD:
Mailed TXPK T-Shirt

REQUISITS:
-minimum 10 seperate training sessions -recommended more
-Every training Session Filmed
-No music with obscene language-or edit cursing.
-No longer then then 7mins
-All Videos uploaded to YOUTUBE, with tag NCPPC-Progression

Video may include partner training. May include training with a group as long as you are the focus. May include CrossTraining. Our goals really include how we can contribute to the community. By creating this we hope that everyone will be able to see different aspects of the training process and learn.

As most of you may know, July 26th and 27th TXPK put on a national jam of Texas proportions. Those of you who have been anxiously awaiting the footage from the first annual Texas Parkour National Jam can thank Zachary Cohn for putting in the time to film and edit this.
